Thank you for visiting Resource Management Services.  RMS has been providing quality behavioral health services in Southwest Louisiana since 1994.  Services are designed to meet the individual needs of children, adolescents, and adults who face challenges related to emotional, behavioral, or mental health issues.  The goal of services is to improve the individual’s ability to cope within their environment at home, school, or community.  Services are provided to eligible individuals ages 6 years and older who are enrolled in Medicaid.

RMS shall partner with members, families, and other stakeholders to support recovery and improve functionality and independence to enhance quality of life for members.

Core Values

  • RMS believes that every person is a uniquely created child of God, worthy of dignity and respect and deserving of person-centered, excellent behavioral health services.

  • RMS believes that every person knows how he/she perceives his/her own world; opinions, feelings, options are considered valid and will be the centerpieces of treatment planning.

  • RMS believes that familiar are crucial to the growth and nurturing of individuals; they help to learn, improve, and empower.

  • RMS believes that every member deserves the least restrictive living and educational environment within their natural community.

  • RMS believes in providing quality, person-centered, life-enhancing services provided by professionally educated, authentic persons with specialized skills, life experiences, and clear boundaries.

  • RMS believes in providing services that enhance the holistic person-physical, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being.

Resource Management Services provides mental health rehabilitation services, including psychosocial skills training and solutions-focused interventions.  Offices are located in Lake Charles, Jennings, and Lafayette, with services in several surrounding communities.

The overall goal of services is to ensure the individual is functioning to the best of their ability in the least restrictive environment possible by preventing out-of-school and out-of-home placements.  To help achieve this goal, RMS staff coordinates with other agencies such as school systems, Juvenile Justice, DCFS, Probation and Parole, physicians, and other support systems in the community.  As part of this coordination, RMS collaborates with local Primary Care Physicians, psychiatrists, psychiatric APRNs, and other medical professionals to ensure individuals receive medication evaluation and management.

Community based services are provided in the individual’s home, at school, other community locations, or one of the RMS offices.  Crisis services are available after hours.  Services are based on an assessment and the individual’s expressed needs.
