Community Based Services

Resource Management Services provides two primary community-based services:  Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) and Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST).  Medication Management is also available, but is provided in the office.  In addition, Crisis Intervention is available 24 hours a day.

 

PSR services are skills training which is based on standardized curriculum.  PSR may be provided in small groups to children or adolescents.  Some of the skills that may be taught include:

 

  • Social and communication skills

  • Coping skills

  • Conflict resolution

  • Improving self esteem

  • Stress management

  • Organizational skills

  • Recognizing and managing symptoms

  • Decision-making skills

  • Self-control

  • Anger management

 

CPST are interventions designed to help individuals manage their symptoms, emotions, and behaviors so that they can function effectively.  Some areas of focus include:

 

  • Identifying emotional/behavioral triggers

  • Developing a crisis plan

  • Identifying support systems within the community

  • Developing positive responses to stress or conflict

  • Encouraging positive interpersonal relationships with family and others

 

Medication Management is available to members who also receive other services from RMS including Medicare.  Medication Management includes an initial evaluation of medication needs and ongoing medication management by a Psychiatric Physician Assistant.  Appointments are scheduled in one of the three RMS offices. 

 

Crisis Intervention is available to assess the need for additional crisis support services and to help resolve the crisis situation.

Telehealth Mode of Service Delivery  may be provided via telecommunication technology, as deemed appropriate for members.
